Ardais is one of the seven Domains of Darkover.
The family home is described as a broad courtyard surrounded by a large building of pale gray stone. The building is several stories high with narrower windows on the lower floors than the higher ones, the house is build like a fortress. The main entryway is large being more than two stories tall.
